Obituary for Selma P Boudov (Cowan)

Selma P. Boudov, nee Cowan, passed away on Sunday, May 16th at the age of 99.

Selma had recently moved to Albemarle, NC to be with her daughter, Bonnie (Randy) Morton. She was a long time resident of Atlantic County and lived in Pleasantville, Ventnor and Northfield during the past 95 years. Selma was involved in her community, especially at her temple, Beth Israel, where she worked for 20 years as the office secretary.

Selma was a member of the Women’s Army Corp during WWII. She was a comedy actress in the Catskills and a whiz of the written word. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing canasta and mahjongg with her numerous friends.

Selma is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Randy) Morton, her step-son, Milton (Claire) Boudov, her grandchildren, Melina (Clive) Boudov-Young, Alex (Cindy) Boudov, Deena (Scott) Swenson, David (Deanna) Boudov, Mark and Teddy Morton and her great-grandchildren, Connor and Rya Swenson, Maddie Boudov, Gibson and Bailey Boudov and Owen Young. She is also survived by her niece Rabeth Gordon who lives in Paris, France. Selma was pre-deceased by her parents, Edward and Esther (Ella) Cowan, her brother, Bernard, her step-son, Donald (Sandra) Boudov and the love of her life, Morris Boudov.

Services will be held on Monday, May 24th at 11:00 AM at Beth Israel Cemetery, graveside at the mausoleum. Mourners are encouraged to bring lawn chairs as limited seating is available.
