Sallye Gordon, 89, died 0m July 28, 2022. She was born in Atlantic City, and resided in Margate and Ventnor. Living for many years at the Shalom House, Sallye brought warmth and good cheer to a a game of bingo, a luncheon, or a chat with neighbors. Sallye loved ato joke around whether you were a small child or a much older person. She also often attended to friends when their health declined. For her closest friend, Louise ZLipka, Sallye provided loving companionship until Louise’s death in 2010. Sallye enjoyed volunteering at Beth Judah Congregation (now Shirat Hayam). She worked as a cashier at Golden Nugget and at CVS in her neighborhood. Sallye is survived by devoted friend Janece Lipka of Margate along with Janece’s brother John Lipka, John’s daughter Carley Young, and by Carley’s son and baby daughter. They all welcomed her into their family. Family mourning her loss include her niece Janet Gordon of Chevy Chase, Maryland and her children Benjamin and Elizabeth Freed; and niece Anne Gordon, of Highstown, New Jersey, her husband David Watson and son Simon Watson. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service, Sunday July 31, 2022, 12:30pm at Rodef Sholom Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
