Sally Weinstein (nee Mistrano), age 92 passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Sam.
Sally was born and raised in Philadelphia. She was proud to be in her home in Northeast Philly for 65 years, giving her the opportunity to live close to all of her sisters. A ritual was having coffee and watching Jeopardy with Clare each night. She most enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends at night, going to the casinos, playing bingo and going to the senior center where she enjoyed exercising and socializing until the age of 90. Travelling with Sam to Aruba, girls’ Caribbean cruises and trips to Vegas with Anita and Diane were most memorable.
She was a remarkable independent woman who maintained her home and continued to drive well into her nineties. Family was everything to Sally, her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, teaching them to play cards or playing games with them. Sally always looked forward to family barbeques or swim parties and loved backyard crab nights.
Loving mother of Anita Pallitto, Diane and John Brehm and the late David Weinstein. Proud grandmother of Jennifer Brown (Tierre) and Dylan Brehm and great grandmother of Jordan and Noah. Devoted sister of Ginger Himmelstein, Clare Weiner, Joseph Mistrano and the late Albert Mistrano, Sylvia Fillette, Rose Dos Santos and Sophie Lichtman. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 12 Noon at King David Memorial Park, Bensalem, PA (Section JJ).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that all contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. www.americancancersociety.org
