Obituary for Paula Zeltner (Wander)

Paula Rae Zeltner of Margate City, New Jersey and Boca Raton, Florida passed away quietly and peacefully on August 20, 2022, in Boca Raton, Florida. Born in Pittsburgh on July 5, 1924, Paula was raised in New York City with her 2 sisters, Marsha and Ruthie. She was a lingerie buyer for a top department store in Manhattan and spent her early years in fashion. As a younger woman, it was commonly said that she was a double for Audrey Hepburn.
Paula moved from New York City to Margate City, New Jersey upon marrying Harold Zeltner, an Atlantic City local. Throughout her life, Paula was a beautiful, fashionable and sophisticated woman; she always loved being in New York City. Harold and Paula were passionate world travelers and for many years spent summers in Cannes. They loved dining out and meeting new people that became a large part of their lifetime friendships. As a couple, they were very active in fundraisers and generous charitable donors. Paula got involved with volunteering for the Margate Library and the local schools. Harold worshiped his Paula.
Paula was a fun lady, who liked to laugh and celebrate her gifted life.
She never missed a "happy hour" and valued her many life-long friends from Margate and later in Boca Raton. She was a fiercely independent woman who lived a long, active and very happy life with Harold, her family and many friends in Margate and Boca Raton. After Harold passed in 2016, she remained independent, living on her own (much to the surprise of her friends!), but this was something which she so enjoyed.
Paula's true passion was her family. Her children, Ben (Nancy) Zeltner of Linwood, NJ and Missy (David) Enberg of Park City, UT, were the cornerstone's of her life. She was a wonderful mother and adored her children every day she lived. When the grandchildren arrived, she was euphoric. She lived for family celebrations and holidays when the family reunited and shared memories. There was nothing she would not do for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love.
Paula will be lovingly missed by her children and four grandchildren Charlie and William Enberg, and Eric and Julia Zeltner, as well as her beloved sister Marsha Rosen and many nieces and nephews. A private service will be held on August 31st,12:30pm, at Rodef Sholom Cemetery in Egg Harbor Township. Friends are invited to attend shiva and a celebration of her life on August 31st at 6pm at 1262 Franklin Boulevard in Linwood. Contributions in her memory can be made to AtlantiCare Foundation www.atlanticare.org.
