Obituary for Mark Evan Beitman

Mark Evan Beitman, founder and author of the Philosimply website, died on July 24 in Atlantic City, NJ. He was 34. Mark earned Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, and Honors in Philosophy from the University of Delaware and MA in Religious Studies from the University of Chicago, where he also engaged in PhD studies in modern Jewish thought. Over the course of his life Mark also studied and wrote in depth on Kabbalah—Jewish mysticism, taught ballroom and salsa dance, and had an expansive YouTube channel devoted to teaching poker. He enjoyed visual arts, snowboarding, and water sports. Most recently, Mark delighted in being a new uncle. He is survived by his loving parents Dr. Robert Beitman and Rabbi Goldie Milgram, brother, Adam, nephew, David, and Alicia. The funeral is being held privately due to the pandemic.
