Obituary for Marcine A. Helfant (Rosen)

Marcine A. Helfant aged 96 passed away on November 7th. Marcine was born in Philadelphia on November 1, 1926, the youngest of six (five sisters and one brother) and was raised by her mother and dear eldest sister Sylvia as her father passed away before she was born. Marcine was married to Philip Guber in 1949 and they moved to Margate, NJ in 1962. Marcine was remarried to Judge Edwin H. Helfant and was widowed at 49 years old. She assisted her first husband in his Real Estate business, was a rental agent at Vassar Square Arms in Ventnor and worked at Hasson Florists in Atalntic City where she helped with floral arrangements and worked with customers. Marcine spent her winters in Hallandale Florida and enjoyed a close network of friends. She enjoyed horse racing, accompanying her second husband. Marcine loved going out on the town. In her later years she enjoyed going to the casinos. One of her catch phrases was “let’s have fun”! She had an irreverent sense of humor and possessed a magnetic personality. She was a stunning woman and would always remark she was tired of people telling her how beautiful she was all her life. She will be missed by daughter Margaret (Pinky) Guber-Nulty, a son John Guber and grandchildren Philip Nulty (Alyce), Grant Nulty and Sarah Guber. She was predeceased by her best friend Ted Hasson. Family and friends are invited to Graveside Services, Wednesday 1pm at Rodef Sholom Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Donations in her memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
