Obituary for Leona Davis Kaiserman

Leona Davis Kaiserman, born July 12, 1928, passed away peacefully at UMC at The Shores in Ocean City, where she had lived for the past 10 years, on March 29, 2022.
Leona was born in Philadelphia and lived a full life. She graduated from Girls High and went to Temple for two years before leaving to help support her parents’ store in the city.
She married Dr. Harry Kaiserman in 1951, they had a wonderful life together until he died in 2012.
They lived in Philadelphia where Leona opened up a nursery school in Overbrook Park,
until Harry opened an optometry practice in Mahanoy City, PA. Totally out of her element in a little coal mining town, she adapted well, until they moved to Margate, NJ, and was back in her element. In 1989 they moved to Boynton Beach, FL, living there until 2005, when her beloved son died tragically. They then moved back to Margate. In 2012 they moved to UMC at The Shores in Ocean City
She thrived at the Shores, where she shared her Jewish faith with residents by having Rabbis come speak about the holidays, she started a Rummikub group, which she taught. She loved the activities there, particularly bingo and wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving dinner until after the holiday game.
Residents and staff loved her, particularly her wry sense of humor. Leona was active in many organizations and was President of the local ORT chapter and served on the board of Hadassah. She was a member of Beth El Synagogue in Margate from 1975-2010.
She always remembered EVERYONE’S birthdays. Most of all she taught us the importance of family.
Predeceased by her beloved son, Ron, her beloved husband Harry, and her beloved son-in-law Greg Reid
Loving mother of Jill Kaiserman (Calvin Cizek), and Shari Reid. Adoring grandmother of Brian and Rebecca Cizek, Sydney and Rory Kaiserman , and Aaron and Alex Reid.
At the family's request funeral services are private
Contributions in Leona's memory maybe made to the charity of the donor's choice.
