Obituary for Jules Edward Joseph

Jules Edward Joseph, 95, of Atlantic City passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4th.

He is survived by his son Dr. Jeffrey Joseph, four grandchildren including Beth Joseph-Arentz (Jim Arentz) and Lisa Joseph (Korey Szapacs), and four great-grandchildren including Jennifer Arentz and Theo Szapacs. Jules was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte (Corak) Joseph and his son, Stephen Joseph, Esq.

Jules was born in Vineland, NJ and moved to Millville as a child. He attended the Millville public school system, graduating from Millville Memorial High School in 1945. While a teenager, he helped his father, Nathan manage the Joseph Pharmacy on High Street. After graduation, he enlisted in the Merchant Marines and traveled by ship around the world. After returning to Millville, Jules helped his father manage Joseph Motors on High Street, a successful car dealership that sold and serviced Chrysler, Plymouth, and Dodge automobiles.

Jules attended the Taylor Business School in Philadelphia, graduating in 1948. He met his future wife Charlotte in Atlantic City, they married in 1950, and raised two children on Oakdale Drive in Millville. Jules was an active member of the Millville business community and Hillel Synagogue. He owned and managed Joseph Motors for more than 35 years, before retiring in 1986.

Jules & Charlotte moved to Atlantic City in 1990 where they were active with the Atlantic City Social Club, Bally's Spa and various Jewish organizations. They spent the winters in Pompano Beach, FL. An avid Cubs fan, Jules enjoyed spending his days watching baseball and football, sports-betting, and horse racing. He enjoyed playing poker with his friends and keeping updated on the stock market.

Jules was a devoted husband, exceptional father, loving grandfather, adoring great-grandfather and loyal friend. A graveside service will be held on Monday, june 12th at 11 am at Alliance Cemetery in Norma, NJ.
