Hannah " Nan" Leder
Nan Leder (nee Hannah Hollander) of Margate, NJ died on July 2, 2021. She was married for over 64 years to the late Harold Leder, and was very loved by her 4 children Cynthia, Douglas, Jane, and William, and her 3 grandchildren David, Daniel and Rachel.
Nan was born in York, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Pauline (Salkin) and Ted Hollander. She attended Finch College while she lived at the Barbizon Hotel in Manhattan. Blond, beautiful, and classically understated, Nan was an incredibly patient, supportive, and uncritical mother who celebrated life and found enjoyment, laughter, and appreciation in every day.
While raising her 4 children, Nan went back to school to receive her undergraduate degree and elementary school teacher certification. She then worked for 30 years as a reading teacher in the Egg Harbor City school system. Nan loved her work and teaching her students, who she remembered always, and valued the good friends she made there. She was gratified to have been voted Teacher of the Year.
Nan, with her integrity, wisdom, empathy, and laughter, will be so very missed.
