Obituary for Faith Stern

Stern, Faith (nee Beldegreen), 91, of Longport, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2018 while visiting her daughter and son-in-law in California. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years (Herb), her daughter Laurie (Gary Lazar), her son Bob (Lisa), and her grandchildren Jonathan (Aubitz), Elliott, Jack, Matthew (Cuozzo), Holly (Cuozzo), and many loving nieces and nephews. Faith was predeceased by her oldest daughter Gail, her brother Harvey (Clynne), and her sister Hope (Sollott). Born on November 23, 1926 in Atlantic City, Faith graduated from Atlantic City High School and attended the University of Wisconsin and Temple University. She lived in Longport since 1953. She worked in and was part owner of the family businesses: Society Studio, Studio Imports, Margate Card Studio, and Ventnor Card Corner. She was active in arts, music, and charitable organizations. She was a longtime member of the Longport Mother’s Club and her “lunch bunch” of close girlfriends. Faith served as a long-time treasurer of the Atlantic City Community Concerts Association, and frequently attended music, theater, and dance performances. She loved to visit art museums, traveled extensively (49 States, Europe, Asia, and Central and South America), and was always a committee member for the ACHS class of 1944 Reunions. She loved to cook and was known for her kamish bread, chocolate chiffon cake, fritters, seafood, and chicken. Faith always loved the beach and ocean. She helped build and puttied all of the nail holes in their original Longport home. She took pride in furnishing and decorating the original home and the new 2014 home in Longport. Everyone who knew Faith thought she was the sweetest, kindest, and most loving person. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, April 5th, 11am, at Congregation Beth Israel, 2501 Shore Road, Northfield. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, 6804 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Faith’s memory to either the Michael J.
