Elizabeth Blavat née Goodman, 88, of Ventnor City, New Jersey died November 13, 2018. She was born January 28, 1830 to the late Abraham and Mary Goodman. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Rubin Blavat as well as her older brother Philip Goodman and sister Ethel Goodman Fiorini. Elizabeth grew up in her parents tailor shop in North Philadelphia. Married in 1949, she raised her children in the Mount Airy neighborhood through the 50s and 60s before settling in Chestnut Hill next door to her beloved sister. Upon retirement from their advertising business Liz and Rubin moved to Ventnor where they enjoyed a life at the beach wintering in Naples and Delray Florida for many years. Liz was a energetic homemaker who was often sought out for her insight and straightforward counsel by friends and family. She approached life with creative ingenuity and humor. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Mark Steven Blavat of Collingswood, NJ and Glen Ian Blavat of Gilbert, SC as well as many nieces, nephews, and their children. Services will be held Friday, November 16, 2 PM, at the Beth Israel Cemetery, Blackhorse Pike (Route 322) and Fire Road in Northfield, NJ.
