Obituary

On July 16, 2021, Edward Finkle passed away surrounded by his wife,
Gloria (Pawlowski) Finkle, two daughters Jill Tucker and Sarah Wertkin and son Aaron
Finkle. Edward’s faithful and loved dog, Casey, was by his side until the end. Edward
was a beloved father-in-law to Andrew Wertkin, grandfather also known as “Pa” to Evan
Tucker, Emily (Aaron) Maiger, Jeremy Wertkin, Chloe Wertkin and Teddy Wertkin and a
great-grandfather to Bodhi Maiger. Edward and his wife had a love for the great
outdoors whether it was camping, hiking or looking for wildlife. He enjoyed the
good-natured debate on politics and supported various causes including the
conservation of the National Parks system, wildlife conservation, and the homeless and
immigration rights. Edward and Gloria celebrated their fifty years together in February
2021. If you should feel inclined to make a donation in honor of Edward please refer to
these following charities: National Parks Conservation Association, The Jane Goodall
Institute of Canada, World Wildlife Fund, and Project Home. Edward will be terribly
missed.

Ed gathered the facts for and enjoyed being at the side of community leaders as they battled red-lining and community disinvestment. We enjoyed Ed's generous spirit and great good humor. Gloria, Jill, Sarah, and Family, we offer our deepest sympathy in your loss. Roger and Pat Harless

Ed was one of the really good guys. He was both a wonderful colleague at the JCRC in the 70s and a good friend. He cared so much about the NW neighborhood, inter group relations and wildlife . He has died much too young . I know his children must be proud of him.May his memory be for a blessing
