Obituary for Danyon "Chip" Braymes

Braymes, Danyon “Chip” of West Palm Beach and Atlantic City passed away on November 2nd. Chip was born to Lois and Mark Braymes of Atlantic City. He was born and grew up on Virginia Avenue, where his family’s business, Wolf’s Uniforms, was located. Chip’s love of Atlantic City dated back to the summers he spent working at the Steel Pier, as well as working at the Beatles’ Atlantic City concert. He also had the honor to serve as an escort for the Miss America Pageant. Chip was a graduate of Atlantic City High School and attended the PMC Military College. After finishing college, Chip operated a very successful advertising agency in Atlantic City, with many high-profile clients. He continued his creative writing and publishing throughout his career and was last employed at the Cooper Levenson law firm. Following in the footsteps of his mother, Chip was a lifelong contributor to his community. His philanthropic efforts were well-known in both the Atlantic City area and when he relocated to Florida. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Philadelphia Eagles. He was also an accomplished squash, tennis and “pickle ball” player. He will always be remembered for being a kind, gentle and spiritual man. Chip is survived by his best friend and wife, Merelin (Mia) and by many loving cousins and friends. Synagogue services will be held Tuesday 10am at Shirat Hayam synagogue, 700 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ventnor. Interment to follow at the Beth Israel Cemetery. Contributions in Chip’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the American Cancer Society.
